Versant Avocats collects and processes the following categories of personal data:

  • Identification and contact information: provided by the visitor via application forms and information request forms.
    Specifically: last name, first name, title, username, phone number, email address, mailing address, fax number
  • Professional information: provided by the visitor via the application form.
    Specifically: job titles, corporate offices
  • Data voluntarily provided by the visitor: through the open-ended fields on application and information request forms, or through contact via email, phone, or social media.
  • Browsing data: When you browse the site, cookies may collect certain data in accordance with the terms set forth in the Cookie Policy.

3) Purposes of processing and legal bases

It is expressly stated that Versant Avocats does not authorize the disclosure of any data regarding ethnic, social, religious, or political origin, or any other type of personal data that is inherently sensitive.

Personal data is processed for the purposes set forth below based on the following legal grounds:

  • Contact Form: The contact form allows you to submit any requests for information to Versant Avocats. Versant Avocats processes the data you provide in order to respond to your requests.

    Legal basis: Versant Avocats’ legitimate interest in processing the request and following up on it (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
  • Job Application Form: This application form allows you to submit your job application to Versant Avocats. Versant Avocats processes the data provided in order to review and respond to your application.

    Legal basis: Versant Avocats’ legitimate interest in processing the application and following up on it (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
  • Voluntarily Provided Data: You may choose to contact us and send your inquiries via email to contact@versant-avocats.com, by phone, by mail using the contact information provided on the Website, or through social media.  Versant Avocats processes the data you provide in this context to review and respond to your inquiry.

    Legal basis: Versant Avocats’ legitimate interest in processing the application and following up on it (Article 6.1.f of the GDPR).
  • Browsing the Website: Apart from the technical cookies required for the Website to function, Versant Avocats does not automatically collect browsing data, unless you give your explicit consent when accessing the Website. To learn more about cookie management, please read the Cookie Policy.

    Legal basis:
    Versant Avocats’ legitimate interest regarding the technical data required for the Site to function (Article 6.1.f of the GDPR) and the visitor’s consent regarding other data collected by cookies (Article 6.1.a of the GDPR).

4) Recipients of personal data

Personal data may be disclosed to:

  • To employees and staff members of Versant Avocats who need access for work-related purposes.
  • To IT service providers or other service providers and subcontractors that Versant Avocats engages to provide services—including technical, logistical, and data hosting services—for the management of your requests, cookies, the Website, and the IT system.

We do not transmit data to third parties. However, data collected via third-party cookies may be sent to the United States.

5) Transfers of personal data outside the EEA

Personal data may be transferred to technical service providers located in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

The service providers are as follows:

  • Google: Google reCAPTCHA, Google Analytics

Versant Avocats ensures that the recipient countries are subject to adequacy decisions in accordance with Article 45 of the GDPR.

6) Retention periods for personal data

Versant Avocats retains your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, and thereafter for a period determined in accordance with the legal and contractual obligations applicable to the firm. Once these periods have expired, the data is either deleted or retained after being anonymized, particularly for statistical purposes or for archival purposes required by applicable legal regulations. 

  • Data collected through the contact and application forms is retained for a maximum of three (3) years from the date of collection or the last contact initiated by the user, unless a contractual relationship has been established with the user.
  • With regard to cookies, the retention period varies depending on the cookie. To find out how long data is retained, Versant Avocats invites you to review the Cookie Policy.
  • With regard to marketing data, it is retained for two (2) years from the date it is collected on the Site, unless you object. At the end of this period, we may contact you again to ask whether you wish to continue receiving marketing communications. Unless you provide an explicit affirmative response, your data will be removed from the mailing list.

7) Your rights regarding your personal data

In accordance with applicable regulations, you may freely exercise your rights regarding your personal data under the conditions described below.

  • Access and Correction: You have the right to access your personal data and to request the correction of any data that is found to be inaccurate.
  • Deletion: You may request the deletion of your personal data provided that Versant Avocats no longer needs to retain it.
  • Objection and restriction: You may also object to the processing of your personal data or request that such processing be restricted, unless it is necessary for the provision of the services you have requested.
  • Withdrawal of consent: When the processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing that has already taken place. 
  • Data portability: You may exercise your right to data portability, which means you may obtain, in a structured, machine-readable format, the personal data you have provided directly through the Site, provided that such processing is automated.
  • Instructions: You may provide instructions regarding the retention, deletion, and disclosure of your personal data after your death, and you may change these instructions at any time. 
  • Complaint: You may file a complaint with the CNIL by following the procedure described on its website at https://www.cnil.fr, or with the data protection authority in the country where you reside, in accordance with applicable law.

You will generally receive a response within one (1) month of the date we receive your request. However, this timeframe may be extended to up to three (3) months in the case of a complex request or if there is a large volume of pending requests. If the timeframe is extended, you will be notified of the reasons for the extension within the initial one (1) month period.
